This week in the sofa galleries the gallery that stood out to me the most was “Post Tenebras Lux” from Daniel A. Rivera-Echevarria. i think the number one thing that captured my attention was that fact that it was not a painting or anything that we have seen before. it was art, but it was different. At the first glance, it is hard to figure out exactly what it is since the pieces were fairly small and each one was different. When i was looking at it, i felt like it was trying to tell a story. Each individual square had an opening of some sort. i felt like it symbolized the breaking free of a particular situation, saying there was always a way out, no matter the situation, hence all of the different types of art created in the squares.
Daniel A. Rivera is an extraordinary artist and i am glad i had the opportunity to view his work. This is not the only type of art that he as done, he also does paintings and photography. Daniel explained his work to be the opportunity to better one self, which is something he truly believes in.
